Practical Response
208 A new indwelling (Presence)
One of the new realities for a converted disciple is that of the very present Spirit of Christ Himself.
Practice the presence of the indwelling Spirit of God by being reminded on each hour of each day this week that the Spirit of Christ is present in you.
209 A new relationship (with God)
One of the new realities for a converted disciple is that of a brand new relationship with God.
Review the focus texts and list seven words or phrases that describe your new relationship to God; then spend time this talking to Him, listening to Him, and telling Him of the joy and thanks in your heart for what He has done for you.
210 A new Master
One of the new realities for a converted disciple is that of a brand new Master named Jesus.
Begin each day by submitting yourself to the Master; do two things this week that you would not normally desire to do simply because they are two things that the Master wants you to do.
211 A new security
One of the new realities for a converted disciple is that of a brand new security guaranteed by the presence of the Spirit of God, assured by the promises of God, and evidenced by the preserving work of God in his life.
When in the course of this week, God's Spirit alerts you to the looming enticement of a particular sin, pause to thank him for the way He preserves your relationship to Him and then respond to Him by escaping the temptation.
212 A new freedom
One of the new realities for a converted disciple is that of a brand new freedom.
List the sins and/or the traditions which have enslaved you. Watch for them to sneak up on you this week. As they do, rejoice that you no longer are held captive to them; stand firm in your new freedom by yielding to the Spirit of Christ in you.
213 A new hope
One of the new realities for a converted disciple is that of a brand new hope.
Don't let your heart be troubled. Relax and rejoice in the security of a future with Jesus. Persist even when the reasons for despair increase. Do not be shaken.
214 A new purpose
One of the new realities for a converted disciple is that of a brand new purpose in life.
Write down a single sentence to describe your new life purpose. Share with someone this week that you have found a new purpose for life by following Jesus.
215 A new doctrine
One of the new realities for a converted disciple is that of a brand new set of teachings.
This week read 3 chapters a day starting in John 1. By the end of 7 days, you should read all of the Gospel of John. In weeks to come, continue reading at this pace. Use the Read the Bible Through plan. Prepare to continue a more thorough Bible Reading plan in the future.
216 A new family
One of the new realities for a converted disciple is that of a brand new spiritual family of brothers and sisters.
Tell a brother or sister in Christ that you are happy to be connected to them in spiritual network; approach anyone in the Christian family (network) with whom you are at odds and make things right.
