138 Forgiving Sin
Jesus suprises a crowd of onlookers by first forgiving the sins of a cripple and then proving his authority to do so by healing the man.
Consider what Jesus can do in your life beyond the meeting physical needs (external wants). Ask yourself, "is my sin forgiven?" and "is Jesus able to forgive my sin?"
139 Calling the Publican
Jesus invited the despised tax collector named Matthew to become one of his followers.
Write down what you think Jesus meant by the healthy and the sick. Ask yourself, "which group would I fall into? Would Jesus spend time with me?"
140 Describing the Soils
Jesus described four differing types of soils to illustrate the variety of conditions he found in a man's readiness for his message.
Decide which type of soil best represents the condition of your heart.
141 Defining Greatness
Jesus described that true greatness is achieved by service to others.
Do several servanthood activities this week. Compare the servant mode to your normal operating procedure. Is it the same or different?
142 Healing the Blind Man
Jesus healed a man born blind and claimed to be the light of the world.
Write down what you would tell somebody Jesus means to you if you were asked like the blind man in the story was asked.
143 Calming the Storm
Jesus calmed a ferocious storm causing the disciples on board the boat to wonder, "What kind of man is this?"
Given what you have learned about Jesus, write down how you would answer the question of the disciples regarding Jesus: "What kind of man is this?"
144 Rising from the Dead
The resurrected Jesus encountered two disciples on the road to Emmaus, explaining his suffering and validating his resurrection.
Review the additional texts to see what the Bible in advance of the events had to say about Jesus. Record your discoveries.
